Slouch booties are amazing for pretty much any time of year but Spring is probably my favorite time to wear them. The weather is cool, I’m still wearing pants and leggings and slouch boots are the perfect height for both. They work over or under most pants and leggings and come in all kinds of heel heights, adding texture and style to your lower half.
Many people think that slouch boots are from the 80s but actually they’ve been around since the renaissance ages. This means that not only are they cool and diverse now, but they have been for hundreds of years and will continue to be, no matter where you live in the world. Historically the boots were for both men or women but in the 20th-21st centuries, women have almost completely dominated the boot market, leaving men with combat or cowboy boots, unless the gent is a classy type and likes the slick soled Italian boots.
The flat heeled, bootie height, slouch boot is probably the most popular with the ladies heeled slouch boot following close behind. Celebrities are well aware of the timelessness of a good pair of Slouch booties and you’ll see almost any one of them wearing a pair at some point during the year.
My new favorite pair was seen on Katherine Heigl, actress from Grey’s Anatomy and the movie Knocked Up, is the Chinese Laundry Wiz boots, in brown or grey . A fun, down to earth and relatable actress, she’s pretty and approachable, and obviously has an everyday girl style of dressing. A style that honestly, you know most of us have (we can’t wear or afford high end stuff all the time, right?).

I wear my slouch boots out shopping, out to dinner, to a film and at work. They keep my ankles warm in a cold office, theater or outdoors in the spring weather and add that little bit of style needed for any outfit I own.
Do you have a favorite pair? or need more? This spring 2012 is the perfect season to start looking. All natural colors are in style right now and in some places, Neon is really making a comeback. Can’t lose, no matter what!
